Last chance saloon for many of these and wide open. Lady Mary Heath is an obvious starting point given her Punchestown win on Thursday, although the drop in trip may not be in her favour. Contrastingly, the shorter trip should suit Punchestown second Cash Me, while Spacebound, Venetian Star and Dolly Hello hold solid claims. A tentative selection is THEREWILLBEGLORY on the back of a breakthrough maiden win on similar ground. [Alan Hewison] Show less
Spotlight: Had promised on numerous occasions before finally making the breakthrough at Punchestown on Thursday, coming from well off the pace to win going away (Cash Me third, San Aer sixth) over 1m (yielding); slow starter on occasions, broke fine at Punchestown; carries mandatory 7lb penalty and rider's claim negates much of that.
Spotlight: Filly on a roll, following wins at Bellewstown and over C&D last month off 6lb higher, beating Eichan San 1.5l (Dolly Hello third) from a high draw; up another 6lb but relishes this ground and has to be respected.
Spotlight: Goes well on soft, narrowly beaten at Limerick over the summer and off the mark last month over this trip at Gowran when positively ridden; strong traveller but settled well on latest; 7lb rise but respected and rider in super form.
Spotlight: Loads of placed efforts, including when runner-up in 22-runner 6f handicap here last month, before deserved decisive first success over this trip in Naas fillies' maiden six days later on soft; up 3lb for that but still improving and likely big player.
Spotlight: Lightly-raced 4yo maiden ran creditably in a couple of handicaps here, not quite getting home over 1m on second occasion; odds-on back in maiden company at Punchestown on Thursday, making much of running when beaten 0.5l; hood now replaced by cheekpieces.
Spotlight: A 12-race maiden; twice runner-up last season on soft/heavy and pick of this year's form when third over this trip at Down Royal; 1m1f too far here on latest, back to optimum trip and don't rule out from a good draw.
Spotlight: Maiden whose best efforts have been at this trip, most recently over C&D last month when staying on into third behind Givehertilxmas and Eichan San; should be thereabouts, especially given a strong pace.
Spotlight: Three-time Curragh winner, including over this trip in April off 3lb higher; 6f inadequate on latest so should relish return to this trip and has his ground; nicely handicapped now.
Spotlight: Only 1-28 but touched off here a year ago (1m, soft), twice placed at Leopardstown over the summer and went close at Listowel (1m1f), despite not clear run; 1m2f beyond her on latest, marked drop in trip now.
Spotlight: C&D winner is thoroughly exposed and without a win in three years but Thursday's Punchestown sixth behind Lady Mary Heath (Cash Me third) can be upgraded a little as didn't get clearest of runs; rider's claim could now bring him a lot closer and good draw.
Spotlight: Soft-ground 7f maiden winner at Limerick earlier in the season for Jarlath Fahey; placed in handicaps over 7f and 1m for this yard, 6f inadequate latest two, no luck in running here last month.
Spotlight: Lightly-raced 4yo showed mild promise on AW last year, better on return to chase home clear odds-on winner in Limerick maiden in June (1m, good-to-yielding); back from a break on much softer ground for handicap debut and may need this.
Spotlight: Just two wins (including here) from 41 starts on turf but often runs well in defeat, including twice at Roscommon from last three starts; trip/ground fine and could run well at decent odds.
Spotlight: Frequent runner at this venue, 1-23, placed six times; most recently every chance under typically prominent ride when fifth of 20 to Givehertilxmas; more needed.
Spotlight: Veteran last won over 7f at this track a year ago off 2lb higher; good second here last month but two runs since at this track leave him with a bit to find.
Spotlight: 50-1 winner of a Curragh maiden (6f, good) last summer and was returning from 11 months absence at Punchestown on Thursday when fine third to Lady Mary Heath under a positive ride (1m); shorter trip here could suit and contender if fully recovered from those exertions.
Spotlight: First reserve; maiden has been blinkered of late, notably good second to Givehertilxmas over C&D (soft) last month; didn't land a blow (bumped) 8 days later at Dundalk; 1lb wrong.
Spotlight: Emphatic debut winner of 7f Galway maiden on heavy ground this time last year and seen just twice this year, respectable fourth of 16 in Gowran fillies' handicap in April and (joint-favourite) too keen and didn't get home in Galway rated event in September; tongue-tie now fitted and remains unexposed.
Spotlight: Maiden winner here last year on soft (6f); mixed bag this term, best efforts over this trip in Naas handicaps; return to 7f to suit but others preferred.
Spotlight: Lightly-raced 3yo got up late on soft ground in Bellewstown maiden (1m) in April, following month never recovered from slow start in first-time cheekpieces in Naas rated event; back from long absence for handicap debut and tough-looking task off this mark.
Spotlight: C&D winner last season has added another two wins this term; two recent efforts well below best, however, so lots more needed.
Spotlight: Lightly raced since 5f maiden win here in 2024; four handicap runs here this year haven't offered a great deal but has been dropped 13lb.
Spotlight: First effort this year of any note when staying on into midfield at Leopardstown last month; handicapper relenting (down 18lb this year) but hard to be confident in.
Spotlight: Second reserve; dual winner this time last year, pick of recent form when good fourth here over 1m; Thursday's Punchestown sixth leaves her with a fair bit to find; 1lb wrong.
Spotlight: Landed 6f maiden on heavy here in March but underwhelming so far in handicaps, latest after a break (gelded) when never sighted at Roscommon; hard to fancy.
Spotlight: Promise in maidens here early in his career and won Dundalk AW maiden a year ago; absent until well beaten, having been made plenty of use of here last month (6f, soft); entitled to come on for that.
Spotlight: Both wins over the summer on good ground but handled soft when clear second (Mercurial third) at Roscommon last month; race probably came too soon just three days later over today's C&D; don't rule out.
Spotlight: Both wins were over further on heavy ground in 2023; was returning from three-year absence last month when never counting here over 1m2f; down markedly in trip here.
