Few make huge appeal so a chance is taken on CHASING CROWNS who went close off this mark in October and is entitled to improve over her creditable fifth on seasonal return at Kilbeggan. Over six lengths in front that day, posting a career best in second was Katie's Casper who is of definite interest again. Harry Cobden rides Where Are You Now for the first time but he has disappointed as favourite in his last two runs and may prefer softer. Moonshine Girl also has claims. [Denis Harney] Show less
Spotlight: Went closest to scoring when just denied in a Punchestown handicap over 2m in January (well-backed) on soft to heavy ground; raced keenly over 3m on return at the same track last month; 5-2 favourite at Clonmel last time but was a disappointing seventh; cheekpieces go on and Cobden rides for the first time so he must be respected.
Spotlight: Best effort by far came on her third handicap start at Kilbeggan last time when a 1.5l runner-up (3m1f, good to yielding); that was positive and she's a player if she can keep it going.
Spotlight: 0-18 (14 over hurdles) but went closer than ever at Limerick over 2m6f (soft) last time when beaten just 1l in second under today's rider; up 2lb but she's of definite interest.
Spotlight: Winless from 13 starts over hurdles but some good runs in defeat; bounced back from a poor Clonmel run at Kilbeggan (3m1f, good to yielding) when running on well to take third in the final strides; thereabouts off the same mark.
Spotlight: Pulled up in opening two handicaps and well beaten at Clonmel in May; however, he showed a lot more when fourth of 12 at Limerick last time; needs to continue on the up.
Spotlight: Second reserve; won off 2lb lower at Ballinrobe in Aigust (2m6f, good); remote second on chase debut at Kelso on seasonal return; hampered and unseated at the fourth flight back over hurdles at Kilbeggan last time; chance with a run.
Spotlight: Won a Punchestown handicap hurdle for Paul Nolan in 2024 off 90; 0-9 chasing for that yard but made the frame on several occasions; much improved display compared to stable debut when keeping on for third of 14 at Downpatrick (2m6f, good) last time.
Spotlight: Improved efforts in final two maiden hurdles upon encountering good ground; rain-softened ground wasn't in his favour on handicap debut at Sligo (officially good) when fifth over an extended 2m4f; worth another chance on proper good ground.
Spotlight: Improved for switch to handicap company over hurdles when third at Cork (3m, yielding) before scoring at Kilbeggan (3m1f, good) off 87; creditable return to chasing at Punchestown last time when sixth; winning rider back aboard and not dismissed.
Spotlight: Third reserve; sole success in 26 hurdle starts came at Sligo in Aug' off 6lb lower; should come on for creditable fifth on return at Kilbeggan.
Spotlight: Dual hurdles winner in 2024, the second of them coming over this C&D (soft); has improved with each of her three runs this year and was a 6.5l third of ten at Listowel last time (3m, good to yielding); didn't travel with much verve that day but her mark is falling.
Spotlight: Record of 0-9 in point-to-points; best of four maiden hurdles was on debut at Leopardstown when a 23l sixth; moderate chase debut at Downpatrick in May when a 13l ninth; visor replaced the previously worn cheekpieces for his handicap debut but others are more appealing.
Spotlight: Won a 2m1f maiden hurdle at Killarney in 2024; fairly lightly raced since then but her runs haven't been too encouraging, although ran well for a 66-1 shot at Wexford last time when fifth of 14 (2m4f, good to yielding); shaped like this trip was worth a go that day.
Spotlight: Went close at Down Royal (3m, good) off this mark in October but failed to build on that in two runs afterwards on soft; more promising was her return at Kilbeggan (3m1f, good to yielding) when a 7.75l fifth of 14 back from a break; 6.25l behind Katie's Casper that day but entitled to improve over that seasonal return.
Spotlight: First reserve; 1-23, with the win coming at Listowel in May last year (23.5f, good) off 85; lost his form in final start for Brian McMahon and that has continued in three runs for new yard.
Spotlight: Won a Ballinrobe handicap hurdle in 2024 (2m7f, good) off 82; out of form in final two hurdle starts in 2024 and three runs over fences last autumn didn't bring any improvement; best watched back from a break.
Spotlight: Weakened into sixth of 18 at Down Royal on handicap debut in March (2m5f, yielding); poor over fences twice following that and pulled up at Punchestown back over hurdles last time; best watched.
Spotlight: Placed in a point but failed to complete her two others; his 25l ninth at Tramore last time was his best run under rules but much more needed on handicap bow.
Spotlight: Placed just once from 12 starts over hurdles; beaten 15.5l at Sligo over hurdles and tailed off at Kilbeggan over fences last time; others preferred.
