Spotlight: Only 1-9 but hasn't been getting the breaks in some strong handicaps, including here (sole visit) in May when he was drawn wide and finished best of those held up; it was a similar tale last time at Doncaster, again over 7f; stays 1m and goes on any ground; first-time hood; appeals as a winner waiting to happen off his current mark.

Spotlight: 3-5 last season, all wins at 6f; two runs at Meydan in January included a second in the 1m Guineas Trial; lots to like about his recent running-on fifth at Newmarket, given he was back over 7f after an absence of 239 days; interesting runner, for all that he could be better drawn and has yet to race on ground slower than good.

Spotlight: Had given the impression that 1m might suit and he duly came home best on heavy ground at Ayr three weeks ago; up 6lb but handles all going and remains of interest.

Spotlight: Has form figures of 112 at this track, including victory in this 12 months ago and the second was in this July's Golden Mile off only 3lb higher; below form since but course record makes him dangerous; has no clear ground preferences.

Spotlight: Three wins in her last four starts were all Class 4s at Chester (good/soft); this is tougher and she went up 9lb for winning so well last time, but improving 3yo fillies can be a dangerous species.

Spotlight: Well handicapped on his soft-ground form when it was no great wonder to see him prevail with authority under optimum conditions at Haydock a month ago (7f); however, that's triggered a 9lb hike and conditions are unlikely to be as slow here.

Spotlight: Signed off last season with three successive wins (all at 1m); yet to make the breakthrough this campaign but he's come close and latest 2l third at Haydock (1m, heavy; fine on all ground) in the new cheekpieces was up there with his best form; not ideally drawn but hard to knock otherwise.

Spotlight: Consistent maiden, with fairly encouraging efforts in strong 1m handicaps at the feature meetings here and at York on last two outings (his first two races in cheekpieces); came from the rear on both those occasions; could have a bigger effort in him.

Spotlight: Six runs, with the fourth in last season's Group 2 Vintage Stakes here the clear standout; down the field this season (1m/7f) but the ability is there should a gelding operation have had a beneficial effect; worth checking in the betting.

Spotlight: Started the season with a bang in winning the Lincoln at Doncaster (1m, good to soft) but that's as good as it's got, as he's finished no better than ninth in five subsequent races; 1lb lower than at Doncaster but with much to prove now.

Spotlight: Has some classy form to his name but essentially disappointing this year since his third in a Listed race in May; often highly tried, admittedly, but he did run in a handicap three starts back.

Spotlight: Chester winner in May (extended 7f, good) and close up in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket; well beaten on last two runs but one was in France (handicap) and the AW scene of latest start might not be for him; fair mark and handles good to soft.

Spotlight: Listed winner in 2024 (1m2f, good) but nowhere near that level now; has offered very little this year, latterly when 100-1 for a 1m handicap at Doncaster.
