Spotlight: Acts on soft, unproven on heavy; has had a mixed 2026 but he's won both renewals of this race and is now 1lb lower than last year's; apprentice ridden for the first time since May 2024; one to note.

Spotlight: Both career wins (from 25 races) have come on Dundalk AW, but he finished on the heels of winner Spirit Mixer in this race last year (good to soft) and was also bang there in the Chester Plate this May; backward steps on last two outings but he's not ruled out.

Spotlight: Unraced here except in a maiden (fourth of six); three wins in last year's 3yo campaign (good/soft) but none this season; his form has gone the wrong way and, even though a reduced mark has helped him to some minor honours lately, others have more pressing claims.

Spotlight: Thrived for his new stable this season until something amiss at Carlisle on latest start; his preceding two starts were a 1m4f win here (good to soft) and 2m second here (good) and the form gives him an each-way chance here despite position 2lb out of the handicap; 7lb claimer is recruited too.

Spotlight: Formerly very smart on Flat but he's not scored in this sphere since a 2m2f win here in 2023, had a disappointing 2025 and tailed off in the Northumberland Plate (AW) on his only Flat start this season; all wins have been on soft or heavy ground, so more rain would be the hope for him.

Spotlight: Best ratings on no worse than good to soft, although he did win on heavy in 2024; 1m6f winner (unraced beyond that) last September on his only visit to this track; that was the second leg of a double, following a series of places, but he's not been nearly so potent this season and is 5lb out of the handicap today.
