Spotlight: Won here in a bumper and maiden hurdle; added to his tally when 2-5 favourite in novice at Ludlow last December, but no match for the winner back there in the spring; unexposed as a handicapper, but this looks a tough reintroduction to competition.

Spotlight: With Denis Gerard Hogan when justifying favouritism in a Tramore maiden (2m, good to yielding) in April; joined this trainer the following month for £26,000 and has been kept ticking over on the Flat (form figures 122); noteworthy he's pitched into a Class 2 for GB handicap hurdle debut; interesting.

Spotlight: C&D winner (Class 4; from 22lb lower) last October; won well at Plumpton (2m; from 13lb lower) in April and posted a career best in a C&D Class 2 in July, run down only late on (not fluent at the last two); the task is even tougher from 4lb higher; certainly isn't discounted though.

Spotlight: Won his first three for this trainer, progressing beyond juvenile contests to win handicap debut at Sedgefield (2m1f, Class 4; from 18lb lower) in January; midfield finish in the Triumph, but posted a clear personal best in an Aintree Grade 1 (third, 25-1) next time; 8lb higher on seasonal reappearance.

Spotlight: Continued progress, winning for the fifth time since May, when making all at Newton Abbot (2m1f, Class 3; from 8lb lower) three weeks ago; this represents his toughest test yet - up 21lb since sent handicapping - but you couldn't be confident where the ceiling lies; merits respect.

Spotlight: Ex-Jedd O'Keeffe; campaigned on the Flat (3218) by this trainer until returning to hurdles with a bang in Class 4 at Perth (2m, good; won by just over 2l, 15-2); 6lb higher in a more competitive contest but, as the Morebattle Hurdle has shown, this trainer isn't fazed by aiming high.

Spotlight: Didn't come off the bridle when making a winning handicap debut at Southwell (2m Class 4, good) in June for his third win over hurdles; ran well when third over C&D subsequently (Indemnity second and a few of these rivals behind); latest Perth effort (fifth) was slightly underwhelming.

Spotlight: Five wins on a variety of conditions, taking his form to a new level when winning the Class 3 Cartmel Cup (2m1f, good; 8-1) four weeks ago; competes from 5lb higher (up 21lb since February) but has shown (when fourth) that he can handle this sharp track.

Spotlight: 4-8 over hurdles but yet to win above a Class 4; distant third to Morning Mayhem at Newton Abbot in June and only fifth (behind three of these rivals) over C&D the following month; pulled up on the Flat at Chester latest, so it's difficult to envisage him even making the frame.

Spotlight: Hurdles or fences, it's fair to say she failed to fulfill her potential for Willie Mullins, with her fourth in the Mares' Novices Hurdle (2m1f) at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival a highlight; well beaten on her last two starts over fences, so it's back to basics (hurdles) now with Faye Bramley.

Spotlight: Last year's winner (from 14lb lower); went clear from the last to score at Haydock (2m Class 3, good to soft; from a similar mark) last December; more miss than hit (0-5) since, though, weakening quickly (pulled up) in the Cartmel Cup latest; risky proposition currently.

Spotlight: Four wins here (2m-3m) but those have been gained at lower levels (Class 4 and 5); kept on to finish an honourable third at Uttoxeter (3m, good) in June but a bit below his best since, pulling up at Cartmel latest; outsider.
