This is wide open. Last year's winner Kats Bob should make another bold bid from the front, while Rousing Encore (second choice) is likely to be swooping fast and late. Territorial Knight's 2025 form reads well and he's much respected, along with Kodiac Thriller, Almarada Prince and El Bufalo, for whom the booking of Zac Lloyd is an interesting one. The well-handicapped Duran makes each-way appeal but at the top of the list is last season's Ayr Bronze Cup winner WINGED MESSENGER who looks set for another productive campaign after a pleasing reappearance at Redcar.[Richard O'Brien] Show less
Spotlight: Exposed 7yo but he arrives in good form, beaten only a neck at Thirsk two weeks ago; 0-8 at York but has run well here on several occasions; should be thereabouts.
Spotlight: Has not been with David O'Meara long; found only Lord Roxby too strong over C&D (good) last month and wasn't disgraced at Thirsk the following week; likely to be in the thick of things again.
Spotlight: Surged back to form when beating Yes I'm Mali 1l over C&D (good ground) three weeks ago; no obvious reason why he won't give his running again but a 6lb rise means he'll probably need a personal best to follow up.
Spotlight: Tends to come from well off the pace and sometimes meets trouble; did well in the circumstances when a never-nearer fourth of 14 at Carlisle two weeks ago; won over C&D last spring; big player if the gaps appear.
Spotlight: Veteran who retains plenty of ability; fourth in big field at Doncaster on return and fared best of those drawn high when seventh over C&D next time; back to his last winning mark and impossible to discount.
Spotlight: Keeps getting better and signed off his 4yo campaign by beating Woven a neck in the Ayr Bronze Cup (6f, soft) last autumn; made a pleasing return to action when fourth at Redcar (6f, good to firm) 19 days ago; that should have blown away the cobwebs and, with his usual cheekpieces now returning, he looks ready to strike.
Spotlight: Only eighth over C&D last time when quite well fancied but there's nothing wrong with his previous fourth here at the Dante meeting; now below his last winning mark and may well get back on track.
Spotlight: Faded at Doncaster six weeks ago but had previously shaped well when fifth in a big field at the Lincoln meeting there; has C&D form and his midsummer efforts last season read well; not ruled out by any means.
Spotlight: Sixth to Kats Bob in this race 12 months ago; made a winning return at Southwell in April but disappointing at Ripon next time and needs to bounce back.
Spotlight: Hasn't won since 2024 but he's starting to look well handicapped; heavily backed when sixth of 20 behind Lord Roxby and Yes I'm Mali over C&D three weeks ago; bit more needed but he could be building up to something.
Spotlight: Last two wins have come over 6f at Redcar and he returned to form when third over that C&D last month; however, this is warmer and he has been unplaced on all four of his starts at York.
Spotlight: In better heart than recent form-figures suggest, shaping encouragingly at Beverley on reappearance and poorly drawn at Ascot next time; usually runs at 5f but also successful at 6f; falling in weights and has each-way hopes.
Spotlight: Has done most of his racing on AW (4-20) but seems at least as effective on turf and he went close at Chepstow three weeks ago; all wins over 5f but he tends to finish strongly and should be just as good at 6f; may not be fully exposed and the booking of young Aussie star Zac Lloyd catches the eye.
Spotlight: Fine stable servant with eight wins to his name, two of them here; probably needed the run when down the field at the Dante meeting; the usual headgear returns today and Jack Nicholls claims a handy 5lb; quite interesting.
Spotlight: In and out since two Newcastle wins early in the year, down the field at Carlisle most recently; others preferred.
Spotlight: Front-runner; has done well since joining Mark Walford, first home on his side in the Great St Wilfrid at Ripon (6f, good to firm) last summer and winning over the same C&D (good to soft) in April; has to bounce back from poor run at Ascot last time but that's certainly possible.
Spotlight: Tends to lead and he made all to beat 18 rivals in this race (good to firm) 12 months ago; bubbling under this season, beaten off only late on at Doncaster last Friday; won't mind if rain softens the ground (used to be considered a mud-lover); should make a bold bid for a repeat success.
Spotlight: Infrequent winner nowadays; faded into fifth of 13 at Hamilton four weeks ago; well below his last winning mark but that reflects a decline in his form.
Spotlight: Not beaten far on AW at Kempton last time but previous turf run was a poor one; would benefit from plenty of rain (all three wins on soft).
Spotlight: Hasn't built on 5f success at Southwell in March, fading and hanging on this course three weeks ago; unproven at 6f; questions to answer.
Spotlight: Just one win (5f AW at Newcastle) from 17 goes; not seen since respectable fourth over same C&D on New Year's Day; others have stronger claims.
Spotlight: Gained three 6f wins on the AW last spring but went off the boil and refused to race in the Ayr Silver Cup on final outing; 0-13 on turf and never a factor on reappearance (66-1); others appeal more.
