Aidan O'Brien's two recent winners of this valuable maiden were beaten in their first two races and, not only is OKLAHOMA likely to follow suit by advancing his form further, but he has leading claims as it is. Launch Sequence looks more than ready for this longer distance, while Speyside and Lancaster Tower ran highly encouraging first races. This is always a big ask for a newcomer when no debutant has won since 2017, but if there's one who could gatecrash the party it might be Magwitch.[Alistair Jones] Show less
Spotlight: Wootton Bassett colt out of the stable's Group 1 winner Hydrangea; has multiple Group-race entries; beaten by a likely smart stablemate on debut (7f, good to firm) and, although turned over from the front when odds-on at Killarney (1m, good), he was only a length off City Of Dubai who has since gone close in a Listed race; has a very similar profile to the yard's last two winners of this (2023 and 2025) who stepped up plenty on their third starts; now goes in cheekpieces; strongly considered.
Spotlight: Entered in the Group 2 Royal Lodge and Group 1 Dewhurst; travelled well but seemingly found out by inexperience when a beaten odds-on favourite at Sandown (7f, good to firm); that form has been franked and let down in the last week, but this Kingman colt is open to any amount of improvement with that run under his belt, especially when evidently held in high regard.
Spotlight: Did have a Gimcrack entry and still engaged in other Group races; has come up short in two races over 6f (good to firm/good; the latest a valuable maiden at Glorious Goodwood) but those front-foot finishes suggest this extra furlong could make a big difference to him; firmly in calculations.
Spotlight: 550,000gns yearling by star stallion Night Of Thunder; sixth foal; half-brother to winners Dhabab (Group-placed 5.5f-7f; RPR 114) and Celeres (French 10.5f); dam unraced half-sister to 6.5f-1m Listed winner Boomshackerlacker; one of the more appealing newcomers on paper, and trainer has introduced some smart horses at this track down the years.
Spotlight: Blue Point colt who defied odds of 40-1 when 3l third in a strongly run 7f maiden at Glorious Goodwood (good to firm), faring best of the newcomers from a midfield position at halfway; entered in the Group 1 Dewhurst and the fact that Oisin Murphy rides when Andrew Balding is represented raises expectations.
Spotlight: 50,000euros breeze-up buy; fifth foal; half-brother to winners Campaign Trail (1m4f-2m Flat, RPR 91; 2m1f/3m2f hurdle) and Green Gate (German 1m4f); dam German 1m1f/1m3f winner, half-sister to 2m4f Group 1 winner Colour Vision; everything would suggest he'll improve for longer distances but the trainer factor heightens interest for sure.
Spotlight: £62,000 yearling by Brocklesby winner Persian Force; 13-2 for AW debut at Kempton (7f) where he momentarily threatened before going down by 2l; has to improve plenty on that effort in this much deeper contest.
Spotlight: 150,000euros foal, 400,000gns breeze-up buy in April; first foal out of an Italian 1m winner and sister to winners Call Me Love (Italian 1m2f Group 2) and Cloud Free (1m); tongue tied for debut; stable won this in 2021 with Hoo Ya Mal (had the benefit of a run) who went on to finish second in the Derby; perhaps a slight concern that stable jockey Oisin Murphy is riding for Hugo Palmer.
Spotlight: 150,000gns yearling; third foal; half-brother to winners Goldwork (6f 2yo; RPR 80) and Stitching Wheel (1m6f; 73); dam French 7f winner (82), half-sister to winners Broderie (German 1m Listed) and Great Esteem (useful 1m4f); stable's 2yos have been going well all season and it makes sense to check the betting with Speyside from the same yard.
Spotlight: 210,000gns yearling; 100-30 at Ffos Las (6f, good) and finished a shade over 8l behind the favourite who was ninth in the Coventry; this colt was slowly away and should be all the wiser here, but this demands significant improvement from him.
Spotlight: 24,000gns yearling, 110,000euros breeze-up purchase; fourth foal; half-brother to winners Zappata (7f/1m; RPR 74) and Crimson Rambler (1m/8.6f; 72); dam 1m/1m2f winner (99), half-sister to useful winners Shediak (6.5f-1m) and Shehira (1m); has been gelded; likely best watched.
Spotlight: Price increased from 82,000euros as a foal to 170,000euros as a yearling; fourth foal; brother to 5f/6f winner Amiata (RPR 89) and half-brother to Norwegian 6f-10.7f winner Icon Bling (107); dam 6f winner (72), closely related to two 5f 2yo winners; makes debut in fairly deep waters and others appeal more.
Spotlight: 60,000gns yearling; first foal out of a 5.4f 2yo winner (RPR 68) and half-sister to 6f winner Peony; this race is a tough starter but stable is having a good season with 2yos and this colt is in the Two-Year-Old Trophy.
Spotlight: Positives to take from both his runs at about 7f (good to soft/good to firm) without suggesting he'll be capable of getting competitive in a maiden of this strength.
Spotlight: 50,000gns breeze-up buy in April; third foal out of a prolific Italian 5f/6.5f winner and half-sister to Italian 5f/5.5f Listed winner Black Mambazo; hard to enthuse over when from a yard not noted for 2yo winners (0-14 last five seasons).
