Spotlight: Grade 1-winning novice hurdler won four in a row over fences last season; began with a win at this meeting before taking three Grade 1s, the Drinmore (2m4f), the Racing Post Chase and Goffs Irish Arkle, both 2m1f at Leopardstown; hood added but pulled up after making mistakes in the Brown Advisory at Cheltenham; headgear is left off on return; has a bit to find and this trip is still a question.

Spotlight: All six wins have come in Listed or Graded company; won two Grade 3 events last season (2m7f) on the way to going one better than 2025 in the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham; wasn't at his best next time in the Melling Chase at Aintree but has a decent record fresh and the yard knows how to win this race.

Spotlight: Runner-up to Envoi Allen in this race last year; he then went on to win a Thurles Listed contest before posting a career-best in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown; was found to be lame when pulled up in the Paddy Power Leopardstown Gold Cup next time; top-rated runner has run well fresh in the past so has to be respected on return.

Spotlight: The 2024 King George Chase winner (third Grade 1 win) was narrowly denied in that race last year; not at his best next time in the Ryanair Chase behind Heart Wood before unseating in the Grand National; made a winning Flat debut in a 1m6f Gowran maiden in September and should be ready to run a big race today.

Spotlight: Useful novice hurdler progressed into a classy novice chaser last season, springing a 22-1 shock in the 2m4f WillowWarm Gold Cup at Fairyhouse; was a solid runner-up in a Punchestown Grade 1 over 3m1f next time; reappeared with a ready win in the PWC Danoli Chase at Gowran; a bit to find with some of these rivals but is race-fit and could bridge that gap.
